Re

"Re the leaf vid, bloody genius mate!"
I've always been lucky like that and I simply accept it as is, I'm certainly no genius

 "cogito ergo sum"
"Je pense, donc je suis"
I'm pink, therefore I'm spam
Although we come someway since then, we now have 1+1=2,  via Principia Mathematica, the vast majority of people will simply accept that 1+1=2 without asking why ?
There is some other stuff we've worked out as well, but nothing so substantial it's worth mentioning
The Large Hadron Collider, may start answering some fundamental questions, although I find it more likely it will end up asking more questions than it answers, the main question it may answer is what is reality ? hopefully it can answer this before the world Ends in 2012 ;-)

"I think what we perceive as contradictions are in fact merely misinterpretations of a coherent model"
The mathematics at the moment tell us 11 dimensions, and we can't think in 11 dimensions, we can barely think in 3+1

"logically one thing cannot be in two places at once". If I take the number one and divide it by two I have two halves, identical in every way, coexisting. Now we can say that each half is "individual" and continue to divide one half again by two whilst not doing so with the other (a half and two quarters). But because we are able to manipulate one half without manipulating the other (effectively confirming the individuality of one half) does this then mean the two halves are not still part of a greater whole (1) which therefore can be in two places at the same time? "

Ekkkk where to start, mathematics is an abstract it's not real, it's a man-made mechanism/idea to help described thing's, and it like logic tends to fall apart once it becomes complex, so you have one imaginary thing and divide it by two, then you have two imaginary things, if you tried doing this with a real thing like an atom it would blow up in your face boom! although you can't actually split and atom, you could split a photon, but until The Large Hadron Collider sorts out what reality is, we just don't know what's really going on

"there is no matter only mind"
There is no matter only energy ;-) oh never mind

"if I am myopic and place a pair of glasses on my face then I can see further, but just because the glasses improve my vision does not make them the same as my eyes, just a facilitator or augmenter of sight"

Your eyes see nothing, your brain interprets information from the optic nerves and create a model inside your brain, glasses focus photons which hit your optic nerves ;-)

And by sticking chips in guinea pigs/volunteers brain's they can make the blind see

There are numerous ways of changing how your brain works which will change your conscious perception, the two are absolutely linked and there is substantial empirical evidence backing this up, they could stick probes in your brain and make you hungry thirsty happy sad all via external stimulus, I can understand why you'd like to consider a separation between physical and mental processes, but the evidence is quite overwhelming, they are the same thing, there are gaps nevertheless which you might cling too, but these gaps are getting smaller every day as advances in neuroscience continue every day, soz

And they are already working on copying consciousness digitally, and they are some might say disturbingly advanced in this field

Thanks for the link, yes I remember seeing this some time ago, certainly worth another watch

"When you question which half of the mind is the definitive "true individual" I would have to say neither. Currently I perceive ALL my "mind" as "ego" and I do not believe I am my ego/mind. "Consciousness" is one of the hardest concepts to define and different schools of thought define it differently. I am reluctant to say that the "narrator" or "voice in my head" is my "consciousness". It may have awareness, and the "enlightened mind" may be aware of itself (ego witnessing itself giving rise to the phrase "self aware") but it is not "me". I feel that my mind/ego is a programmed construct of experience which upon death disappears back into the aether having served it's purpose of witnessing a unique path for the "oneness" or "IS-ness"."

the "narrator" surprisingly not everybody has a narrator

Sounds quite Buddhist, and you could be right, there are still gaps big enough at the moment for this to be possible

"suffice it to say I currently believe the UNDERLYING principle to "reality" is vibration... okay, so call me a hippie *chuckle*"

Bet you've got some crystals, yar Hippie ;-)
Personally I'll leave this as unknown until The Large Hadron Collider comes up with something definitive

"Does entanglement theory not mean we are all ultimately part of "oneness"?"

Errrr nope ish ;-) maybe, Errrrr don't know

If you entangle particles, they remain entangled until entangled by another particle/particles, and particles are flipping between energy and mass all the time so new ish unentangled particles are being created/converted all the time, so, I don't know ;-)

The hole Entanglement thing takes my mind to places were my mind cannot cope

"meaningless musings" indeed in 10 To the power of 32 years the universe will end, approximately tea time, the odds of our species surviving and becoming technologically advanced enough to survive this are so close to zero that it makes no odds, we are done-for, but in the meantime there's plenty of beer so it's not so bad ;-)

"...At least I've avoided drinking tap water since 2001 and distil my own! *chuckle*"
Isn't drinking distilled water in itself harmful ?

Alex Jones, why am I thinking about Alex Jones ? ;-)

Have fun ;-)
